Amendments to EAC TR 019/2011 on personal protective equipment

Public discussions of the draft amendments to the technical regulation “On the safety of personal protective equipment” (TR CU 019/2011) have been completed.

The project provides for clarification of the requirements of technical regulation regarding the assessment of product conformity and bringing them to standard assessment schemes adopted by Decision of the EEC Council No. 44 of April 18, 2018.

Thus, for personal protective equipment (PPE), certification will be carried out by an accredited body according to schemes 1c, 3c, 4c and 7c, and declaration of conformity on the basis of own evidence (if any) and evidence obtained with the participation of an accredited testing laboratory, according to schemes 1d, 2d, 3d and 4d, or the manufacturer’s own testing laboratory – according to schemes 1d and 2d.

The draft also sets out in detail the requirements for sets of documents that the applicant must provide when carrying out conformity assessment procedures.
