Changes to EAC 037 technical regulation on the use of hazardous substances in electronics (RohS)

Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has prepared and submitted for discussion a draft amendment to the technical regulation “On Restricting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Radio Electronics Products” (EAEU TR 037/2016).

The document provides for clarification and concretization of the provisions of technical regulations in terms of expanding the scope, as well as updating requirements for controlled nomenclature of hazardous substances and limiting their content in electrical and radio electronics products.

Thus, in accordance with the draft, it is proposed to expand the list of regulated hazardous substances from 6 to 10 by adding diethylhexyl phthalate, butyl benzyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate, diisobutyl phthalate, as well as establish an open list of electrical and radio electronics products subject to confirmation of compliance with requirements of TR EAEU 037/2016 (with indication of exceptions therefrom).
