The Eurasian Economic Commission Council decided to expand the list of goods subject to labeling within the EAEU.

The Eurasian Economic Commission Council has expanded the list of goods subject to labeling within the EAEU. Unified rules will be adopted for the following products: construction materials, children’s toys, paints and varnishes, tea, coffee, and cocoa.

EAEU member countries will be able to independently set the date for introducing labeling within their territories, but they will be required to notify the EEC Council of their decision at least six months in advance of the campaign’s launch.

This innovation is aimed at combating counterfeiting and adulteration: manufacturers will be able to protect their markets from illegal trafficking, and consumers will be able to easily verify the authenticity of their products.

It is important to note that if you previously labeled a batch of toys or paints and varnishes in Russia, you will not need to relabel them when exporting to other EAEU countries.
