EAEU is introducing labeling for red caviar
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council approved new requirements for the labeling of sturgeon and salmon caviar. This will now apply to both black and red caviar. The decision will come into force on November 30, 2025.
EAEU member states were authorized to independently determine the launch dates for mandatory labeling within their territories. Each country will choose the timing and procedure for implementing the system and then notify the Eurasian Economic Commission.
All forms of caviar will be labeled: fresh, frozen, salted, and packaged in brine. A separate category under HS code 1604 31 000 0 was designated, which will serve as a reference point for customs authorities and traders.
